About FredlyUndernight sensation Fred Reiss was newspaper reporter for the Fairfield Citizen-News and the Danbury News-Times for seven semi-irresponsible years in Connecticut. Then he had testicular cancer (one testicle plucked, now he’s down to five).
After being given a second chance, Fredly threw down his down his resignation, left the news room and saddled up for California to pursue a stand-up comedy career, surf on a longboard, learn about wine and write. He has performed in Bakersfield, Yuba City, Las Cruces, and on national TV (see youTube).
When working, he’s a radio talk show host. Right now, Fredly writes, struggles to catch waves in the clueless, self-invovled hordes, grape stomps and gets vertical at the Skov Winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains. For updates check his blog.
Besides journalism and stand-up comedy, Fred has held a variety of enriching dead-end jobs in advertising, a bank, a mental facility, a bed & breakfast, a warehouse, a surf shop, freelance writing, several radio stations. He's been a camp counselor, stagehand, substitute teacher, cleaned toilets, painted industrial machinery, delivered dog food, dug holes and taught tennis (All part of chasing the dream; or being chased by it!).
He partially grew up in Freehold, New Jersey. He lives in Northern California with his girlfriend, Laurie, three cats: Groucho, Brooksie, and Bogey. Plus, a dog named Seven.
